Last night I went with my co-workers to a restaurant in downtown Reykjavík, called Buddha Café. I can honestly easily say that this is now my favourite restaurant in Reykjavík. You might be able to figure out what part of the world the food revolves by hearing the name but yes it is an asian restaurant. The restaurant has both japanese and cantonese dishes with a touch of french culinary. We went as a big group so we all had the same thing - ruled by the kitchen. To be completely honest, I don't like sushi at all. The ones who tried the sushi were well impressed. Having two co-workers being pregnant we didn't have any sushi as our main dishes but the food we experience that night was japanese with french fusion.

This was our first dish. I was in total shock after eating this as I actually couldn't believe that I was having this good food in Iceland! It was a trio of beef, salmon and a king prawn. Beautiful and delicious.

This was the most amazing peace of beef I think I've ever consumed!

Our next dish was served cold, as it was supposed to be. Duck breast on a bed of noodles. Amazing!

The main course was the most tender melt in your mouth beef served with asparagus and mushrooms. Such a winner of wonderful flavours.

So tender and gooood!

We also had a few sushi dishes passing around the table but even though I didn't have any I could see how well made the sushi was.

Dessert for those who wanted something sweet, ice cream.

Cocktail time!

Their signature cocktails - Golden Buddha & Lucky Buddha

The restaurant itself isn't too big and has a relaxed atmosphere. The dishes were beautiful and vibrant but most of all delicious! A definite must eat in Reykjavík!

They do reserve tables which is a plus and a website with a menu.

Friday stroll

Easter break has officially started which means no school work for me! Today my mom and I went to town where we had lunch and took a little shopping stroll. It was a very nice day that I had with my mom and now I'm just waiting for dinner...

 My outfit
Top - Topshop
Cardigan - Paul Smith
Skirt - Mango
Tights - Levante
Belt - Topshop
Necklace - Accessorize
Shoes - Brako

We went to cafe/resturaunt on Laugavegur called Frú Berglaug. I got a veggie burger that was really good.

My mom got a lobster sandwich, she really liked it.

When I knew we were going to be out all day I switched shoes and ended up going in my black boots from Russell&Bromley. The weather was quite nice today so I managed to only wear a lightweight coat that I got from Thailand last summer. The hat is from Accessorize and the fur collar was a Christmas gift.

Hope you'll all have a nice weekend! :)

Almost everything that I own in my wardrobe is bought from trips to other countries. I tend to only buy clothes and shoes when I go travel. I mainly do that because everything is very expensive in Iceland and plus I like to have more of a variety! The market isn't to big in Iceland so we only get drop in the ocean compared to the range in other countries that I visit. For the past years I have gone to Malaysia every summer and there I do most of my shopping. This year I am not going to Malaysia so all I do is dream of the clothes that I cannot buy in Iceland.

All-Saints is my favourite brand but I don't have anything that is summery from there and I love this dress. I have seen so many girls both on blogs and on youtube have this Rebecca Minkoff bag and I love it, especially because of it's size. Although I have 3 pairs of Ray-Bans I want new ones after I saw Sammi from Beauty Crush wearing these in a blog post. I love them because they are not like the typical Wayfarers.  Just by browsing around I found these beautiful earrings from Asos. I have two pairs of Toms and I love them but they don't sell them in Iceland. I have always wanted to get crochet ones but every time I go somewhere where they sell Toms they never have crochet ones... On my recent trip to London I tried the two Jack Wills pieces on but I didn't buy them because of the price. Then now when I was looking at the Jack Wills website I saw they were having somewhat of a sale so I might try to buy them. The perfume is just wonderful, I love the scent and the bottle is gorgeous :)

Mondays Outfit

I did not do much this day but I still decided to dress myself in clothes made me happy instead of being sad wearing sweats!

The only thing I actually did this day was that I studied for the first half of it, then went with my mom to get coffee and then went to a special training.

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Lipstick

Recently I bought a new lipstick from YSL. It is one of their Rouge Volupté Shine lipsticks and the colour is number 6 and called Pink in Devotion.

The colour is a beautiful pink colour with blue undertones. The pigmentation is sheer and the moisture is great. The name gives away the formula but it has a beautiful shine texture. It really is a gorgeous colour and especially now that spring/summer is coming!

YSL never seem to let you down on the packaging. The lipstick comes in a luxurious gold packaging.

My lips are very lightly pigmented so the colour showed up really well on me, plus I have very fair skin. My mother used the lipstick as well and she has quite dark skin and pigmented lips. The colour looked gorgeous on her as well.

This lipstick definitely goes where I keep my favourite lipsticks!

Casual Wednesday

So yesterday my friend and I went to town. We only went there for a coffee but then went and walked around for a little bit.

The place we usually go for coffee is Súfustinn but that is located on Laugavegur and is actually inside a book store called Mál og Menning.

I mainly go there for the coffee since I think it is the best coffee in Reykjavík but it also doesn't hurt that you can flip through magazines, read books or use the free Wi-Fi while you are there!

I had an okay panini since I hadn't eaten all day but my friend only got a latte. I only had water since I was feeling a little weird but the latte is so good there! I would not necessarily recommend going there if you are looking for a staple meal but the cakes are really good there :)

We saw these two little girls singing and playing on their ukuleles whilst we were walking down Laugavegur. They told us they were fans of Never Shout Never which was funny to me knowing that I once went through an emo music phase where I was obsessed with Never Shout Never haha :)

We are peasants so neither of us have a car and I don't even have my driving license... So our only way is to take the bus

Chocolate Waffles on a Sunday!

Every Sunday I go to my grandparents house for tea. It has been a lifelong tradition in my family. Nobody ever gets an invitation but everybody is always welcome to come.
I try my best to bring something over for tea as no one can expect my grandma to whip up a cake every Sunday!

I spend a lot of my time watching videos of all sorts but it seems like I always end up watching food videos at 1 am which makes me so hungry at a not so fortunate time.. haha
Some of my favourite food videos are by Laura Vitale and recently I saw her make chocolate waffles. As waffles are one of my favourite foods on earth I decided to whip up my own batch with just slight measurement changes. My recipe ended up making a lot more waffles than I first expected as I ended up with about 18 waffles.

What you will need:
3 cups of flour
1 cup of cocoa powder
1 cup of sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
4 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla
3 cups of milk
1 cup of butter, melted (I used 250 grams)

Mix your dry ingredients in a big bowl

Mix the eggs, vanilla, milk and melted butter in a separate bowl

Now mix the two mixtures together

Your batter should look something like this. Now start making your waffles!

Sooo good with a dollop of whipped cream!

The queen of the family! My grandma :)

Such a little beauty!  ♥

My sweet grandpa has been staying at rehabilitation center so we went for a quick visit. He and my cousin Lella Stína are best friends :)

This was taken yesterday but I just love this little lady so much

My beautiful niece that I love so very much  ♥
